We are seeking two suitable candidates to undertake the After Hours Senior Practitioner role within Blackwood Housing and Outreach Support Program. This role includes the following:
- To support the day-to-day operations of the program in the afterhours space, including implementation of residents independent living skills initiatives and supporting residents to meet personal goals
- To provide leadership, including supervision, line management support and program oversight on a rotating roster basis, to a small team of After Hours staff and the residents of Blackwood Housing and Outreach Support Program
- To promote a culture of respect and collaboration within teams while working towards the organisation’s overarching vision to build a just society
- 0.67FTE with a fortnightly rotating roster – two year contract with the possibility of extension

About the program
Jesuit Social Services Housing and Complex Needs programs provide holistic support services for people who present with multiple and complex needs, are assessed as high risk/need, have limited social and family networks, limited accommodation and support options, and are experiencing multiple and complex health problems.
Blackwood Housing and Outreach Support Program is funded by the Department of Families, Fairness, and Housing (DFFH) – Homes Victoria to support young people, aged 16 – 25 years, of all gender identities through outreach support in the community, and occupancy support through our 24/7 residential program for 8 young people for up to 12 months.
We support young people to work towards taking accountability, responsibility, choice and agency in their own lives; developing their independent living skills; engaging in education, training and employment opportunities; all with the aim of reducing reoffending, recidivism and experiencing homelessness.
About you
This role will suit a candidate with the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification/s and/or relevant experience in field
- Demonstrated leadership skills including the provision of support, mentoring and supervision to experienced practitioners
- Extensive experience supporting young people dealing with complex life circumstances
- Demonstrated working knowledge and experience of the Housing and Homelessness Service System and interrelated practice principles/ frameworks
- Strong commitment to working effectively and respectfully with a broad range of people, including young people with high support needs and potentially challenging behaviours
- Demonstrated skills and experience in fulfilling all administrative and reporting requirements.
