About the program

Central Office

Jesuit Social Services engages with people from diverse backgrounds experiencing complex problems, including those associated with mental illness, substance misuse, family breakdown, offending behaviour, homelessness, unemployment, poverty and social exclusion.

Jesuit Social Services operates a range of programs for disadvantaged young people, families and communities from various operational sites.

People and Culture

Our People and Culture Directorate is also located at Central Office, and is responsible for Human Resources & Payroll, Learning, Practice and Development Unit (see below), Identity and Ethos, Governance and Quality.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Human Resources Coordinator to join our collaborative HR team and support the wider organisation.

In this role you will provide high quality administrative and operational support across a broad range of HR functions including contract preparation, compliance management, recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, HRIS administration (Elmo) and general employee lifecycle support.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience in HR Administrator or HR Officer role who is looking to take the next step in their HR career within a supportive and fast paced environment.

This role is a full-time (open to part-time), 12-month parental leave cover position.

About you

This role will suit a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Friendly, mature minded, personable manner with strong interpersonal skills, a curious mind and a desire to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines, be proactive and use initiative
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously and as part of a team with first-rate interpersonal skills, together with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and growing a career within the HR profession
  • Experience within a HR environment with demonstrated aptitude for attention to detail
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with a minimum of intermediate skills in Microsoft programs (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
