Job Description
About the role
The role involves actively working to increase engagement with the Support After Suicide Hub. More specifically, creating content for media and social media, creating campaigns, establishing partnerships with relevant stakeholders and organisations and overseeing the moderation of the online forum

About the program
Support After Suicide
Support After Suicide is an initiative of Jesuit Social Services within the Mental Health and Wellbeing stream. Operating in metropolitan Melbourne and rural Victoria, the program provides counselling, group and online support to people bereaved by suicide.
Support After Suicide also facilitates information sessions for the community and provides education to professionals to increase the awareness of how to respond effectively and compassionately to the bereaved.
SASH (Support After Suicide Hub) is a national online resource and community forum for LGBTQIA+ people bereaved by suicide. Developed by Support After Suicide, in partnership with Switchboard Victoria, SASH was made by, and for LGBTQIA+ people who live with loss by suicide
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
This role will suit a candidate with the following skills and experience:
Tertiary qualification/s and/or relevant experience in the field
Demonstrated understanding of factors associated with higher rates of mental ill health and suicidal distress among LGBTIQA+ people.
Demonstrated understanding of the grief and trauma that LGBTQIA+ people bereaved by suicide may be experiencing
Experience and skill in engaging appropriately and sensitively on discussion forums and social media.
Experience working within or alongside LGBTQIA+ organisations and/or communities, ideally having existing relationships with key stakeholders.
